| Frequently Asked Questions |

How can you afford to sell glasses so cheap ? Being an online company, we do not have expensive overheads like most opticians. Instead we pass these savings on to you. Is the quality any less, then what I get from High Street opticians ? Not at all, in fact we have the same equipment as most high street stores. All our frames and prescriptions are thoroughly checked, to comply with our own strict quality control as well as the British standards. What qualifications do you have ? There are a lot of websites available with no formal or recognised qualifications. We are qualified opticians with over 10 years experience under our belts. Every pair of glasses and contact lenses sent out is thoroughly checked by our qualified optometrists. This is to ensure you get the best products completed to the highest standards. Is it safe to buy spectacles from the internet ? Yes it is, as long as your prescription is up to date and you have your pd (papillary distance) at hand you should have no problems. All the orders are checked by our qualified opticians before being processed. If there are any potential problems with the order you will be contacted and notified. How do I buy bifocals or varifocals ? We suggest that you choose a frame which is suitable for bifocals or varifocals (this will written in the description) then select which lens you require. Please send us a photo (Face shot only) and we can take the measurement for you. For local customers, we can send a technician to you to take the measurements. Don’t worry, there is no extra charge, it’s all part of the service we provide. How do I buy a new pair of glasses ? Please click on how to shop tab, as this will give more detailed information. Do you supply glass lenses ? For your safety we do not supply glass lenses. All our lenses are plastic. There is no difference in quality; in fact they are lighter and more durable than glass. You are recommended to have a scratch resistance coating put as this toughens the plastic lenses. My glasses do not fit me well, what can I do ? Most adjustment can be made at your local opticians. Please be aware there may be a small charge involved. If you live in our catchment area then a technician can come out and fit the glasses for free. What if I am not happy with my purchase ? No problem, we offer a diamond clad 14 day guarantee so you can return the glasses. All we ask is that you email us at customerreturns@jeweloptics.com to get authorisation to return the glasses. The glasses will need to be in the same condition as you received them, in order to get your full refund. Do you ship goods outside the UK ? Sorry we can only ship with the UK at the present moment. I found glasses cheaper else where, can you price match ? Yes we do offer a price match policy and we can beat the price by a further 2.5%. To take us up on the offer it must be a like for like, please email all the details including company, website, frames and lens details to: Pricematch@jeweloptics.com and we will get back to after checking the offer within 48 hours with a price match deal. I have a spectacle prescription, can I buy contact lenses ? No, a spectacle prescription is different to a contact lens prescription. If you require contact lenses, then you will be required by law to have a contact lens assessment. After which you are entitled to a copy of you prescription. Can I buy coloured contact lenses without a prescription ? Yes, you can. But it is strongly recommended that you have a contact lens assessment or check when you wear any type of contact lenses. Can I change my contact lens solution ? Yes you can, but it is strongly recommended you consult your optometrist as you may not be suitable for a particular solution. Can I order contact lenses if my prescription is over 1 year ? No, as it is a legal requirement to have an up to date prescription. This will tell us your eyes are healthy and still suitable for contact lenses. Can I order glasses if my prescription is over 2 years ? No, legally a prescription is only valid for only 2 years. It is important to have an eye test every 2 years. Not only does a test check the health of your eyes it also checks if there is a change in your vision. If your questions have not been answered, please do not hesitate to contact us at FAQ@jeweloptics.com.
